Just recently I attempted to update my Apple Watch Series 3 Nike Cellular version, only to be met with, what's known as, The Apple Watch Red Ring Of Death. Attempting to force restart the device, as told to by customer service, I am met with no positive results. Frustrated as hell, Apple proceeds to tell me that it was due to a hardware issue. If you are experiencing this error, please do realize that they will attempt to up-sell you at all costs, as they get paid more for doing so. Let me tell you that you should not give in and should continue to get the watch fixed or replaced for free as this is definitely a development/distribution error. If your watch is in almost perfect condition and a RED RING with an EXCLAMATION POINT in the center appears after attempting to update, then you inform that the situation does not lie within the hardware as the REM has crashed. If the employee on the other line continues to tell you that you must pay a fee cause your warranty went out, then proceed to tell them to speak to their supervisor and simply explain to them that since this is a distribution issue, you should receive repairing services or a replacement for free. It's an abundance of time to try to get to that one person that says they'll replace/repair your watch for free. The amount of people that you could talk to ranges from 1-40 people. Don't get discouraged and continue to fight for what is morally correct. Apple has done something like this with iPhone 6-6s, so don't forget that Apple has a history of destroying their own products from the inside out to simply take advantage of their customers. Little do they know is that there's a whole community out there that will happily share their experiences with others. For them to say that it is hardware means they either suck at their jobs of analyzing their products, or simply think we're dumb enough to fall for such a scam. The reason I know it's a software error is because there is an item circulating called the iBus which connect to your Apple Watch and all you need to do is RESTORE A PAST UPDATE onto your watch. And honestly, if they make you pay, then obtaining the iBus will be much more simpler and cheaper as it costs around $150-$200 (The cost to fix my Apple Watch Series 3 was $235). The iBus is a reusable and universal tool, so it'll be cheaper and Time Efficient. The reason for choosing to pay for the iBus over the Apple Service/Replacement fee is that if or when your apple watch decides to die out again, simply restore the update with the iBus. So again to remember to continue to go up the ranks of supervisors and attempt to get your watch fixed or replaced for free, or buy the iBus is all goes wrong.
